Aftran 942 -- The Yeerk who turned against her own because she met Cassie and realized what she was doing was wrong. She was later given the power to morph and morphed permanently into a whale to escape Yeerk persuit.
Ajahat-Litsom-Esth -- Brother of Estrid and is the top scoring exhibitionist tail-fighter.
Akdor 1154 -- The Yeerk who led the uprising against the Andalites on the Yeerk homeworld and started the war.
Aldrea-Iskillion-Falan -- The daughter of Prince Seerow who fought alongside Dak Hamee on the Hork-Bajir homeworld against the Yeerks.
Alloran-Semitur-Corrass -- The Andalite who unleashed the Quantum Virus on the Hork-Bajir homeworld. He is now presently Visser Three's host body.
Aloth-Attamil-Gahar -- An Andalite criminal who came along in the Ralek River to Earth as an Andalite warrior and asassin. He was eventually wounded in a battle, and Arbat ruthlessly killed him rather than have him taken by Yeerks (although he could have been hospitalized).
Andalite -- A powerful species who are capable of space flight and are the ones who unleashed the Yeerks on the universe. They look like a centuar with weak arms, almond-shaped eyes, no mouth, two other eyes on flexible stalks growing out of the head, and a muscular tail with a sharp blade at the end. Their ongoing mission is to stop the Yeerks, where ever they may go. Although arrogant at times, they are a good and decent species.
Andalite Assault Ship -- A type of Andalite warship (the Ascalin was an assault ship).
Andalite Courier -- A type of Andalite ship (the ship that stumbled upon the remains of the Hawjabran Colony Ship after the Yeerks destroyed it).
Andalite Fighter -- Standard Andalite space fighter.
Andalite Ground Attack Ship -- An in-atmosphere Andalite ship used to attack ground units (used in the war for Leera).
Andalite Ground Skimmer -- An Andalite ground "hover bike" used to attack other ground forces (used in the war for Leera).
Andalite Homeworld -- The homeworld of the Andalites. It has blue green grasses and a red and gold sky. There are three major starports on the planet.
Andalite Mobile Science and Technology Lab -- A ship who's primary purpose is to serve as the scientific facility in deep-space operations. Also known as MSTLs.
Andalite Re-Supply Ship -- An Andalite ship used to resupply forces and ships in deep space missions.
Andalite Repair Ship -- An Andalite ship used to repair other ships and equipment.
Andalite Robot Probe -- An Andalite deep space probe used as a forward to gather information.
Andalite Submarine -- An Andalite war-sub used underwater for battle (used in the war for Leera).
Andalite Transport -- An Andalite ship used to transport large quantities of troops and artillery.
Andalite War Council -- An Andalite association that directs the military.
Antarean Bogg -- The creature Visser Three morphed when he murdered Elfangor. It is large, with two legs and arms and a mouth full of sharp teeth. It resembles a dinosaur or a large lizard.
Anti-Morphing Ray -- A device developed by Yeerk scientists that forces a morphed person to demorph. It was made to look as if it did not work by sending in Tobias (who is a nothlit), and the project was considered a failure.
Apex Level Intelligence Advisor -- Andalite military adjuncts who advise the Andalite War Council. They are strategists who plot and plan.
Arbat-Attamil-Gahar -- The Apex Level Intelligence Advisor who plotted to release the quasi-virus on the Yeerks of Earth. He was also Estrid's teacher and Alloran's brother who betrayed the team and eventually died at the hands of Taxxons.
Arbron -- Elfangor's best friend who got trapped as a Taxxon and now serves the Living Hive.
Aria -- The cover that Visser Three used in an attempt to discover Tobias's identity, pretending he was his long lost cousin, Aria.
Aristh -- A rank in the Andalite military system that equals to that of a cadet.
Arn -- The species that created the Hork-Bajir. They are terrific biologists and have created many different creatures through bio-engineering. They are small, about waist high, stand on four legs, have two enlongated arms with small glittering eyes and a red mouth. Arn are also many different colors such as purple and red.
Ascalin -- The Andalite Assault Ship that was meant to be used in the battle for Leera, but it was on this ship that the first case of Andalite trechery was discovered and the ship was destroyed because of it.
Ascalin Incident -- The trechery aboard the Ascalin in which the ship's captian, Samilin, landed the Ascalin behind enemy lines.
Atafalxical -- The ceremony of rebirth that is performed with the ixcila to revive the persona within it into a body.
"Avenging Ritual" -- An Andalite ritual that is said for avenging the death of a relative. The ritual is as follows: <And has his/her death been avenged?> [Response] <You are now the eldest son/daugther. The burden of revenge is on you. Do you know his/her killer?> [Response] <And does his/her killer still live?> [Response] <And do you, ______, take up the burden of avenging your brother/sister's death?> [Response]
Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthil -- Elfangor's younger brother who was aboard the Andalite Dome ship GalaxyTree when it was destroyed and the dome section crashed to Earth. He was rescued by the Animorphs and now serves "Prince Jake" in the battle for Earth. For more information on Ax, click here.


B

Barafan -- Aldrea's brother who was killed by the Yeerks.
Bek -- Baby Hork-Bajir from the free Hork-Bajir Valley who got captured by the Yeerks, but was later rescued by the Animorphs.
Blade Ship -- Visser Three's personal ship. It is jet black and shaped like a ancient battle-ax with the triangular bridge at the end of the "handle." Other Vissers also use this ship design for their personal ships.
Boda -- A type of salt on the Iskoort world.
Breeyar -- The Andalite who was commander of the fighter squadren on the StarSword.
Bright Hole -- Large underground bubbles found on Leera where there is no light except for the glow given off by plants in it.
Bug Fighter -- Standard Yeerk space fighter.


C

Carger 7901 -- Visser Three's rival when the Yeerks were just beginning their empire on the Hork-Bajir homeworld.
Cassie -- A teenage girl who walked through an abandoned construction site with her friends one night and met Elfangor who gave her and her friends the power to morph. For more information on Cassie, click here.
Cha-Ma-Mib -- A Leeran god.
Chadoo -- An animal from the Hork-Bajir homeworld that is about 2 feet long with 4 short legs, is covered in blue feathers, and has two enlongated arms with claws at the ends. It also has skin flaps for gliding from tree to tree.
Chapman -- Vice principal at the Animorphs' school who is a high-ranking controller.
Chee -- Powerful androids that were created by the Pemalites. They can create holograms around themselves to manipulate the eye into thinking they are humans. The Chee are pacifists, but still help against the Yeerk invasion by acting as deep-cover spies for the Animorphs.
City of Beauty -- The Iskoort city that the Animorphs went to for the match with the Howlers.
City of Worms -- Underwater Leeran city where the Animorphs met the Andalites and agreed to help them set off the quantum charges to destroy the Yeerk force.
"Clear Spider Monster" -- One of Visser Three's morphs. This unnamed monster has eight spindly legs with the ability to blend into its surroundings.
Coaldwin-Ashul-Tahaylik -- The Ascalin's ship physician.
Collaborator -- A voluntary controller. A person who voluntarily gets infested.
Controller -- A person who has a Yeerk in his/her head and cannot control any part of their body, but is still concious while the Yeerk controls their actions.
Council of Thirteen -- The Yeerk high command consisting of thirteen unknown officials who are on top of the Yeerk Empire.
Crayak -- A powerful being from another galaxy that desires to destroy all sentient species except for its one "perfect" species. Crayak is the Ellimist's ultimate foe.
Creast Phase -- A phase that the therant tree goes through during its lifetime.


D

Dak Hamee -- The Hork-Bajir seer who fought for his people alongside Aldrea during the war for the Hork-Bajir homeworld.
Dan -- Rachel's father.
Dapsen -- An unpolite Yeerk word that was also the name of the Yeerk's logging company which was later destroyed by the Animrophs.
Darkap -- A Hork-Bajir word meaning "to fail."
David -- The kid who found the escafil device and became one of the Animorphs before he turned traitor and was trapped in morph on an isolated island.
Dayang -- A space-faring species that found a Pemalite crystal and sold it to the Yeerks.
"Death Ritual" -- An Andalite ritual that is said before death. The ritual is as follows: <I am the servant of the People [bow head]. I am the servant of my prince [raise stalk eyes upward]. I am the servant of honor. My life is not my own, when the People have need of it. My life is given for the People, for my prince, and for my honor.>
DeGroot -- The lawyer/controller who found Elfangor's letter to his son and helped set up the trap for Tobias using "Aria."
Delf Hajool -- Jagil's wife.
Derane 344 -- One of the Yeerks who died due to Kandrona starvation because the Kandrona generator was destroyed and Visser Three didn't care about her. She is also the Yeerk that Eslin 359 loved and the reason he hates Visser Three.
Derrishoul Tree -- An Andalite tree whos appearance is that of a pointed asparagus-like spear sticking up from the ground.
Desbadeen -- A known species of the galaxy.
Desbadeen Tanker -- A Desbadeen ship that is shaped like a figure 8.
Dome Ship -- The most powerful Andalite ship, it has a dome which is like a circular piece of the Andalite world covered by a transparent bubble. The dome is supported by the hull underneath, which is like a long shaft with the three zero-space engines at the bottom. All in all, it resembles a mushroom. It also has massive shredder weapons along with bays that can hold fighters and other smaller craft.
Dracon Assault Cannon -- A heavier and more powerful version of the dracon beam, it launches blasts of energy at foes.
Dracon Beam -- Yeerk energy weapon that is based on the Andalite shredder, but is messy and causes a more painful death.
Driftball -- An andalite sport.
Drode -- The Crayak's servant whos name means "wildcard." He has caused the Animorphs trouble before and even saved them once (due to an agreement between Crayak and the Ellimist).
Drop Shaft -- A device similar to an elevator, but without a floor. It is a hollow tube that manipulates gravity to bring one to different floors when one thinks of the floor to go to.
Dude -- Tobias's cat when he was a human.
Dule Fansa A creature Visser Three morphed that looks like "Barney the Dinosaur," but has sharp red cones that can fire and retract at the end of four muscular arms. It has two legs with four toes at the feet. Visser Three used this morph in the battle at David's house.


E

Earth -- The planet with human occupants that the Yeerks are currently invading.
Edriss 562 -- The Yeerk who holds the rank of Visser One.
"Eight Creature" -- The creature Visser Three morphed during the Animorphs' first attack on the Yeerk pool. It has 8 snake-like heads, eight arms, and eight legs. It can breathe fire through its eight mouths.
Electorate (The) -- Andalite high command that is at the top of Andalite government.
Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul -- The Andalite war-prince who is considered a hero among his people. At the end of his life, when the Andalite force had failed Earth and Visser Three with the rest of the Yeerks were coming to kill him, he gave five young humans the power to morph, breaking the Law of Seerow's Kindness.
Ellimist -- A powerful being who exists beyond space and time. Ellimists practice "non-interfearence" with other species, although they will use trickery to get their ways. They cannot be physically seen in their natural form, but can convert into forms that those of lesser species can see. The Ellimists are a good and decent species that love different forms of life and strive to preserve them. They, or perhaps just "it", have a great foe as well: Crayak.
Elupera -- Shores on the Andalite world where shormitor can be found.
Empire Ship -- Visser One's nova-class ship that has eight pods centered around a cylinderical core with four huge engines in the back. The Visser used this ship against Visser Three when they found the supposed Hork-Bajir valley.
Enos Ermarf -- Andalite word for the way the water curves into the grass, framed by derrishoul trees.
Erek -- The Chee who first discovered the identity of the Animorphs. He now works closely with them, supplying them information about Yeerk movements.
Escafil -- The Andalite who created the morphing technology that is now used among all Andalite military and infiltration.
Escafil Device -- The machine created by Escafil that allows one to aquire the ability to morph. Its appearance is that of a blue cube.
Escalic -- An Andalite word meaning the opposite of gelasic.
Eslin 359 -- The Yeerk who revealed the location of Visser Three's feeding area to Ax in hopes of revenge for Derane 344's death.
Esplin 9466 -- The designation of two Yeerk twins, one of which is Visser Three and the other who is Joe Bob Fernestre of Web Access America.
Estreen -- The Andalite word for a person who has an ability to make morphing look like an art.
Estrid-Corill-Darrath -- The young female Andalite that came to Earth aboard the Ralek River and who Ax had a crush on. She later departed for the Andalite world after Arbat's scheme failed.
Estril 731 -- A Yeerk who is part of the resistance along with Aftran.
Euclid -- Marco's stepmom's dog.
Eva -- Marco's mother.
"Evening Ritual" -- An Andalite ritual that is said at night with the last orange bands of sunlight. The ritual is as follows: <From the rising of the sun to the setting, to its rising again, we place what is hard to endure with what is sweet to remember and find peace.>


F

Father Deep -- The Hork-Bajir name for the bottom of their valley that is covered by a blue mist and filled with biological monsters. In truth it is where the Arn live, beyond the monsters, near the planet core.
Fellana -- Hork-Bajir word for "thank you."
Feyorn -- Captian of the Dome ship StarSword.
Fit Fit Tree -- A tree that grows on the Hork-Bajir homeworld.
Five (The) -- The species that hunted down the Venber and melted them for their computer chips. Nothing is known of what happened to The Five.
Flaar -- An animal that lives on the Andalite world which smells like a human.
Fleer -- An Andalite hardware component.
"Forgiveness Ritual" -- An Andalite ritual for forgiveness. The ritual is as follows: <I have made right everything that can be made right, I have learned everything that can be learned, I have sworn not to repeat my error, and now I claim forgiveness.>
Forlay-Esgarrouth-Maheen -- Ax's mother.
Frolis Manuever -- The mixing of different DNA patterns to come up with a single morph.
Fugue (The) -- The final hours of a Yeerk's life.


G

Gachak -- Substance found on the Iskoort world that a poison, gachak poison, is made from.
Gairtmof -- Andalite hardware component that resembles a switch.
Galard -- Language of interstellar trade.
Galaxy Blaster -- The Helmacron ship that was destroyed by Visser Three.
GalaxyTree -- The Andalite Dome ship that fought the Yeerks over Earth and got destroyed. Its dome landed in Earth's oceans and that was later destroyed by a submarine operated by Yeerks.
Galilash -- A creature that is 14 feet tall, has green and red reptile-like flesh and has razored tenticles. It was created by the Arn and used in "Father Deep."
Galuit-Enilon-Esgarrouth -- The Andalite commander in the war for Leera. He lost his entire family in a Yeerk raid of an Andalite outpost.
Garatron -- A species which can travel at super-fast speeds and has, at least partially, been taken by the Yeerks. It is about as high as a gazelle with four lanky skinny legs. It has a thin tail that is as long as its body and has a high chest, almost like a pigeon's. It's head looks like a bike helmet with a curved, smooth face. It has no mouth, is covered in blue fur and has two weak-looking arms. The species somewhat resemble Andalites.
Garibah -- An Andalite's guide tree which has the gift of communicating emotions.
Gashad -- A Yeerk warrant to kill on sight.
Gedd -- An sentient ape-like species that was the first host of the Yeerks before the Andalites came. Its limbs are different lengths and it can barely speak using its mouth.
Gelasic -- An Andalite word meaning the opposite of escalic.
"Giant Snake" -- This creature is 50 feet long, a poison yellow, and like a taxxon without the legs and thicker. The unnamed species was a morph for Visser Three during the Animorphs' assault on the underwater Yeerk facility used to create shark-controllers.
Gleet BioFilter -- A device used by the Yeerks that eliminates unprogrammed DNA patterns. It is used at the Yeerk pool entrances to prevent infiltration.
Gonrod-Isfall-Sonilli -- The Andalite pilot who was the commander of the Ralek River and left Earth after Arbat was killed.
Gork -- A creature that is only three feet tall, but 20 feet across and stands on 12 legs. They have extendable mouths. These creatures were made by the Arn and used in "Father Deep."
Graffen's Children -- A creature that looks like "Gumby" with dark blue skin and tree bark textured skin. The species was destroyed by a Howler attack.
Grub -- A "baby" Yeerk that breaks away from the three combined Yeerks who are the parents. Many grubs result from this process of reproduction in which the three parent Yeerks merge and then break apart into many grubs.
Guide -- The Iskoort who served as a guide for the Animorphs on the Iskoort homeworld. He is now a very rich Iskoort due to his services.


H

Hala Fala -- Elfangor's garibah on the Andalite homeworld.
Hald-Wurra -- Old Andalite for "victory in three swipes." It is a classical tail combat move.
Hareli-Frodlin-Sirinial -- Tactical Officer aboard the Ascalin.
Haru-Chin Spears -- Leeran underwater spears which are shaped like thin enlongated sticks and travel slightly slower than a bullet.
Hawjabran -- A species which the Yeerks tried to infest, but were unsuccessful in doing so due to the fact that Hawjabranian brains are not centralized.
Hawjabran Colony Ship -- A massive ship full of Hawjabran "colonists" living an everyday life aboard the ship (one of these ships was destroyed at the hands of the Yeerks shortly after they escaped).
Hawjabran Freighter -- A Hawjabran transport ship that resembles the Starship Enterprise from Star Trek.
Helmacron -- A microscopic, female-dominated species that roams space (and was found on Earth, causing trouble for the Animorphs) thinking that they are superior to everyone and that they were sent on a mission from their Emperor to become "Lords of the Universe." They have four legs and two arms with a head that is flat at the top with the eyeballs resting on the flat surface.
Hereth Illint -- DNA rejection that comes from an allergic reaction to the DNA. It involves morphing the creature while staying in your own form, thus having the creature "grow" from your body and drop off.
Hett Simplat -- A major Yeerk pool on the Yeerk homeworld.
Hirac Delest -- An Andalite's last will and legacy that involves recording the thoughts and memories of the Andalite facing imminent death to the Homeworld via a computer for his/her family.
Homer -- Jake's dog.
Hoober -- An animal that lives on the Andalite homeworld.
Hork-Bajir -- A peaceful (but not too intelligent) species of bark-eaters who got infested and enslaved by the Yeerks. Their homeworld was taken and every Hork-Bajir alive was made into a controller until the Animorphs helped a few Hork-Bajir escape and form a "Free Hork-Bajir Colony." These species are over 6 feet tall, have lizard-green skin with blades on their foreheads, elbows, wrists, and knees. Their hands have claws, their feet are like a hawk's talons (but much larger and more dense), thier mouth resembles a beak, and they have a flexible neck as a snake would have.
Hork-Bajir Homeworld -- The homeworld of the Hork-Bajir which was taken by the Yeerks and marked their first major step in becoming an empire. The homeworld was hit by a comet long ago and caused most of it to be uninhabitable except in the valleys created by the comet itself. These valleys could sustain life after small alteration by the Arn, who also lived on this homeworld. The planet is now a major Yeerk-occupied base.
Hork-Bajir Seer -- An intelligent Hork-Bajir that is born once every generation due to a genetic anomaly in the Hork-Bajir DNA strain.
Howler -- A species created by Crayak that was made to kill other species. The Howlers are like children, butchering, yet not knowing the real extent of what they are doing. The Howlers were eventually made to understand this evil when the Animorphs used a memory reading device to show the Howlers the meaning of love, thus ruining Crayak's elite attack force. The Howlers have "cooled-lava" colored skin with a flexible waist that can turn 360 degrees. They also have blue eyes that give them an x-ray vision of vital organs of an organism and have a collective memory. Howlers have the usual two legs and arms and are armed to the teeth.
Hruthin -- A Hork-Bajir word that has some association with "Andalite."
Human -- A species that lives on a planet called Earth and are the most recent species to be under a Yeerk "silent attack."
Hunter Robots Beach ball sized, metallic spheres that are truely drones that hover and fire dracon beams at unauthorized intruders. These robots are deployed throughout the Yeerk pool, using cameras to watch out for any unauthorized persons or animals.


I

Illim -- The Yeerk that controls Mr. Tidwell and is part of the Yeerk peace movement. He gave Cassie the information on Aftran's trial and allowed himself to be aquired as well.
Iniss 226 -- The highly-ranked Yeerk that controls the Chapman host.
Iskoort -- A species that was the result of a group of Yeerks (a theory) breaking away from the empire and genetically engineering a symbiotic host. The Iskoort have vulture-like heads that protrude from a long neck on an oval platform that is their shoulders. They have two arms dropping from the shoulders that are jointed three times with hands that have a long tenticle-like finger and two small claw-like ones. They have a diaphragm in the center of thier bodies that looks like a pink accordion and legs extrude from underneath this in a way that their knees are bent backward and calves touch the ground. This species was saved by the Animorphs in a battle against the Howlers.
Ithileran-Halas-Corain -- Assistant to head of communications on the Andalite world.
Ixcila -- The stored persona (chemical signals and patterns) of a person. It can be used to make a new person exactly like the old at the time of making the ixcila in an event that the person dies.


J

Jagil Hullan -- The Hork-Bajir who was Dak Hamee's best friend and fought alongside him in the Hork-Bajir war.
Jahar -- Alloran's wife (also was the name of Alloran's ship).
Jake -- A teenage boy who walked through an abandoned construction site with his friends one night and met Elfangor who gave him and his friends the power to morph. For more information on Jake, click here.
Janath 492 -- An old, wise Yeerk who helped found the Yeerk Empire.
Jara Hamee -- The grandson of Dak Hamee and the first of the two free Hork-Bajir since the Hork-Bajir war. He now lives in a concealed "Hork-Bajir valley" put aside by the Ellimist with other freed Hork-Bajir.
John Berryman -- The human who was Visser Four's host and was erased from the timeline as a result of the Animorphs stopping Visser Four.
Jordan -- Rachel's younger sister (bigger of the two younger sisters).
Jubba-Jubba -- A large three-fingered creature that was a product of Arn genetic engineering. It was used in "Father Deep."


K

Kafit Bird -- 12-winged bird that lives on the Andalite world.
Kaftid -- A creature with a seahorse-like head with tiny wings behind it. It has slimy green frog-like skin and squirts acid.
Kalashi -- A Hork-Bajir word meaning "wife."
Kandrona Rays -- The waves that are put out by the Yeerk homeworld's sun and are necessary for a Yeerk's survival.
Kandrona Wave/Particle Generator -- A portable machine that emits kandrona rays and can focus them into a Yeerk pool.
Kanver Tree -- A type of tree found on the Hork-Bajir homeworld.
Kawatnoj -- The Hork-Bajir word for "children."
Ket Halpak -- Jara Hamee's wife and the other of the first two free Hork-Bajir since the Hork-Bajir war.
Korla -- A known species of the galaxy.


L

Lebtin Javelin Fish -- A flat and oblong creature that is bright yellow and looks like a stingray. It flaps its "wings" to swim, had two stalk eyes up top, and two antennae on the bottom. It has an armament of spears aligned on its back, facing forward. It swells up and fires the spears out of its mouth by tremendous air pressure.
Leera -- The homeworld of the Leerans. There was an Andalite/Yeerk battle which was fought for this world in which the Andalites won.
Leeran -- A psychic species that have pebbly yellow skin that appears slimy. They have large webbed back legs, four tenticles for arms, all attatched to a barrel-like body. Their heads sit squarely on the shoulders and are quite large with a bulge at the rear end.
Lerdethak -- A genetically engineered creature made by the Arn. It has thousands of tenticles extruding from a ball-shaped head and was used in the Deep.
Lewhak Tree -- A tree that grows on the Hork-Bajir world.
Lirem-Arrepoth-Terrouss -- Head of the council on the Andalite world who told Ax to take the blame of Seerow's Kindness from Elfangor.
"Living Asteriod" -- A type of creature which appears to be an asteriod, but is living and feeds off of energy.
Living Hive -- A unique and massive creature that lives on the Taxxon homeworld. Taxxons live in the hive and it was the Taxxon's caretaker before the Yeerks arrived and took most of the Taxxons away from it.
Loren -- Tobias's mother and Elfangor's wife before the timeline was deleted by the Ellimist.
Lourdes -- The Chee who was stuck in an abandoned townhouse being used by gangsters while the Chee power turned off on the Pemalite ship.


M

Mab Kahet -- The Hork-Bajir who was a Tribe Elder of the Hork-Bajir world.
Mak -- A species that was conquered by the Yeerks.
Marco -- A teenage boy who walked through an abandoned construction site with his friends one night and met Elfangor who gave him and his friends the power to morph. For more information on Marco, click here.
Mardrut -- A creature from an ocean of one of the Andalite moons. It has a big purple bag like body with three sacs that propulse water and little fish tails all over that help in propulsion as well.
Mashtimee -- A species which was destroyed by the Howlers.
"Medusa's Head" -- A creature which has a blood orange head with many tenticles that each end in a sythe blade.
Memory Dump -- A dump of memories into a computer that every Yeerk has to do at current intervals (excluding Vissers and others of higher authority).
Mercora -- A species which lived on Earth in the time of the dinosaurs. They were later eradicated with the landing of a comet which also wiped out the dinosaurs. They look large crabs that have three legs on one side and two claws that can hold objects on the other, causing them to be tilted to one side.
Mirrorwave Call -- A call which an Andalite can send as an "SOS" somehow through thought-speak signals.
Mislit -- Hork-Bajir word for a part of the tree near the trunk (or possibly the trunk itself).
"Morning Ritual" -- An Andalite ritual that calls for contemplation from arisths. It is said every morning with the rising of the sun. The ritual is as follows: <From the water that gave birth to us [dip right forehoof in water]. From the grass that feeds us [crush grass under same hoof]. For the freedom that unites us [spread arms wide]. We rise to the stars [look with all 4 eyes at rising sun]. Freedom is my only cause. Duty to the people, my only guide. Obedience to my prince, my only glory. The destruction of my enemies, my most solemn vow. I, ______, Andalite warrior-cadet, offer my life [assume stance and raise tail blade to throat].>
Mortron -- A creature that moves on biological wheels and is composed of two sections. One is the land section that runs on the biological wheels, the other is a part which can lift off the bottom and fly with wings and has a mouth full of sharp teeth. These species regenerate when cut apart. One can become two to four to eight to sixteen, etc.
Mother Sky -- Hork-Bajir term for the sky, both day and night.


N

Nahara -- The first species to be conquered by the Yeerks (excluding Gedds).
Naomi -- Rachel's mother.
Nartec -- A humanoid species that is blue with gills and small fins on their bodies. They reside on Earth under the ocean in an underwater city and have collected watercraft over the years. They are genetically defected, and cannot reproduce. They have made more of themselves by gathering genetic material of those found in the water or on the watercraft.
Nawin Cone -- A type of edible cone that grows on a Nawin tree.
Nawin Tree -- A type of tree that can be found on the Hork-Bajir homeworld.
Nescord -- The Andalite who was the tactical officer aboard the StarSword.
Nesk -- A species that is composed of ant-like creatures who can assemble masses of themselves into greater creatures. They lived on Earth along with the Mercora and were their main rivals. They were the ones who diverted the comet into the Earth in the first place.
Nine Sifter System -- The system that is the location of the Rakkam Garoo conflict.
Noorlin-Sirinial-Cooraf -- Ax's father.
Nora -- Marco's stepmom.
Nostnavay -- A species which was exterminated by the Howlers.
Nothlit -- An Andalite word for a person who has gone over the two-hour morph limit and is trapped in a morph.


O

Ongach(ic) -- A nomadic species that bear resemblance to Klingons.
Ongachic Minstrel -- A type of Ongachic starship.
Onkalilluim -- A type of organic medicine.
Ooka Melon -- An Andalite fruit.
Osmosis Nodes -- A Yeerk's "mouth" that absorbs kandrona rays and other neutriants in the Yeerk pool.


P

Pakka Doll -- An Andalite doll for females.
Palps -- The two "stalks" a Yeerk has extruding from its head.
Pemalite -- A powerfully advanced species that eventually became very peaceful and trusting. This led to thier extinction when the Howlers emerged from Z-space and attacked. They look like dogs, but stand erect on thier hind legs and are taller. The Pemalites were the ones who created the Chee.
Pemalite Crystal -- A powerfully advanced Pemalite microchip that has the power of millions of computers.
Pemalite Ship -- A standard Pemalite ship that looks like Snoopy the dog.
Planet Crusher -- A Helmacron ship that attempted to steal the Escafil Device with the Galaxy Blaster.
Pon -- A species that was destroyed by the Howlers.
Ponto Fallan -- The Hork-Bajir that was a Tribe Elder on the Hork-Bajir world.
Pool Ship -- A standard Yeerk mothership. It has bays in which it can load Bug Fighters and other smaller craft. It looks like a spider, with a centeral body and three spider-like arms, that are weapons arrays, extending out of it. It has rods which extend from its underbelly that are sensor arrays and particle gathering equipment.
"Pterodactyl Monster" -- A creature that has a pterodactyl head and wings, with a porcupine-like body. It has 5 foot quills all over its back.


Q

Q-One-Eighteen -- The quantum virus that was used on the Hork-Bajir world.
Quafijinivon -- The last surviving Arn that came to earth and requested help to start a insurrection on the Hork-Bajir world by finding hidden weapons and taking samples of DNA from some free Hork-Bajir to make his own army.
Quantum Virus -- A virus that attacks a specific DNA pattern at the subatomic level, bypasses all countermeasures, and kills the victim in minutes.
Quasi-Virus -- A programmable virus which is deadly to Yeerks.
Quatzhinnikon -- The leader of the Arn during the time of the Hork-Bajir war.


R

Rachel -- A teenage girl who walked through an abandoned construction site with her friends one night and met Elfangor who gave her and her friends the power to morph. For more information on Rachel, click here.
Rakkam Garoo -- The conflict in the Nine Sifter system between Yeerks and Andalites.
Ralek River -- The Andalite MSTL which came to Earth in a plot to asassinate Visser Three and secretly release a quasi-virus against the Yeerks. Its code name was "Crusader."
Ramonite -- The special alloy which has the ability to become opaque, transparent, or create holes in itself (used as doorways) by realigning its atoms.
Residual Flux Field -- A field which has the elastic ability to send one to a distant place and then snap them back (as was seen in The Decision).


S

Saddler -- Rachel and Jake's cousin who got fatally injured in an accident and was morphed by David so David could provide cover for himself.
Samilin-Corrath-Gahar -- The Andalite who was captian of the Ascalin and the first known Andalite traitor. His trechery on Leera is known as the Ascalin Incident.
Sara -- Rachel's younger sister (smaller of the two younger sisters).
Sario Rip -- A hole made in space-time that can throw people in proximity through time and places. It is usually triggered by a massive explosion, although it is totally random and most massive explosions do nothing.
Scoop -- An Andalite "house" which is a large dug out scoop or bowl in the earth and has many flowers and grasses planted in it. There is a quater section that is covered by an awning to keep things out of the rain.
Sea Blade -- An air and water Yeerk submarine. It looks like the Blade ship with pustule-like pods here and there on the hull. It was destroyed on its first mission to seize the Pemalite ship.
Sector 5, RG-21578-4 -- The Andalite database name for the Hork-Bajir world before it's name was known. It is located in sector 5, orbiting around a RG (red giant), and is the fourth planet from the star.
Seerow -- The Andalite prince who trusted the Yeerks and helped them understand the world, the stars, and technology. He was considered a fool among his kind because the Yeerks took his teachings, stole some Andalite ships, escaped the planet with half a million Yeerks, and started the Yeerk empire.
Seerow's Kindness (The Law of) -- An Andalite law that is named after Seerow and was made because of what he did. It states that Andalites are to help species in need, but never to share any information or technology with them. They are merely to be protectors, and nothing more.
Sharf Den -- A species that was destined to be attacked and exterminated by the Howlers, but were not because the Animorphs exposed the Howlers to love and caring. Instead, when sent, the Howlers will attempt to kiss them.
Sharing (The) -- A Yeerk front organization that is based of the Boy Scouts, but is really a recruitment effort for controllers.
Shorm -- An Andalite word meaning "tail blade." A shorm would be a person that is one's absolute friend, that even if he/she raised their tail blade to one's throght, one wouldn't even be worried.
Shormitor -- Tail blade carvings that were made by Andalites in ancient times.
Shredder -- An Andalite energy weapon that can go from mildy stunning a foe to vaporizing thick sheets of alloy. It is quick, clean, and effective.
Shredder Cannon -- A larger version of the shredder which launches blasts of energy at enemies.
Siff Tree -- A type of tree found on the Hork-Bajir homeworld.
Skrit Na -- A species that are composed of two stages: the Skrit, which is a large cockroach-like creature and can obey simple commands. And when the Skirt goes into a caccoon, a year later a Na will pop out. A Na has two slender arms and legs with a skinny body and a large head. They travel in saucer-shaped ships and are the aliens to which humans often refer seeing.
Sofor -- An Andalite warrior that fought in the Hork-Bajir war and also served on the StarSword as Elfangor's instructor.
Speaking Tree -- A tree that is selected by the Hork-Bajir and vines are streched over its branches to be used to create different sound tones. It was the Hork-Bajirs' way of communication with different valleys.
Ssstram -- A species that was conquered by the Yeerks.
StarSword -- The Dome ship on which Elfangor served during his first deep-space mission and the same ship he helped save upon his return from his human life on Earth.
Stoola Tree -- A type of tree that grows on the Hork-Bajir world.
Sub-visser -- A Yeerk rank that is just below Visser. Somewhat like a lieutenant.
Sulp Niar -- A major Yeerk pool on the Yeerk homeworld.


T

TailStrike -- The Dome ship which came to StarSword's assistance and made the already crippled Yeerks (due to Elfangor's handywork) retreat.
Taxxon -- A cannabalistic species whose majority allied itself with the Yeerks in exchange for fresh new meats. They look like large centepedes that are three times as long as a man (and so thick around that you couldn't hug one if you wanted to) with their upper third standing erect. Their hundreds of claws grow pinchers near the top to grasp things and at the top of thier bodies they have red globule-like eyes and a circular opening for a mouth with rows of sharp teeth.
Taxxon Homeworld -- The homeworld of the Taxxons and a major Yeerk-occupied planet.
Taylor -- The host of sub-visser 51 who is second in command of the invasion of Earth. She was Tobias's torturer and is partially insane.
Temrash 114 -- The Yeerk who took control of Jake (who formerly controlled Tom). He was killed by kandrona starvation when Ax figured out he was a controller.
"Tenticle Eye" -- A creature that lives in water (or some other liquid) and looks like an eye with many tenticles growing from it whos tips are poisonous.
Therant Tree -- A pink-leaved tree that has branches and vines. It grows on the Andalite homeworld.
Thought-Speak -- A psychic form of communication that Andalites and a few other species use to communicate with. It is a universal form of communication and can be understood by everyone because it is based on thoughts. Thought-speak can also be used by any persons in morph.
"Three Legs" -- A creature that has two large arms and three massive legs the size of redwoods. The creature is about 20 feet tall, yet has a human-sized head.
Tila Fashat -- The Hork-Bajir that was known as the Old One and told Dak Hamee's mother that he was a Seer.
Time Matrix -- A machine which has the ability to move one through time and space, a mythical machine that was recovered by Elfangor from the Yeerks and hidden on Earth, under the construction site.
Tobias -- A teenage boy who walked through an abandoned construction site with his friends one night and met Elfangor who gave him and his friends the power to morph. For more information on Tobias, click here.
Toby -- A Hork-Bajir seer that was born into freedom in the free "Hork-Bajir valley." She makes the smart decisions for the free Hork-Bajir (is like an unnoticed leader), since the others aren't too bright.
Tom -- Jake's brother who is a human-Controller.
Torf -- A tail blade technique in which one swings the blade at a foe and at the last second, flips it so that the flat of the blade makes contact.
Tria Gland -- A gland in located in the rear of an Andalite's head that is responsible for disease prevention.
Tribe Tree -- A Hork-Bajir's tree of the tribe.


U

Untouched Wildlands -- A desert area on the Andalite homeworld.
Utzum -- What Andalite medicine men call a spiritual right. It is memories passed by DNA to the recipiant and when the recipiant is near death, the memories are triggered to help the passage be easier. It involves a tail blade being pressed to the recipiants forehead in the memory recall.


V

Vanarx -- A translucent purple creature that can attach itself to the ear canal and suck a Yeerk out of the host's head.
Veleek -- A rare life-form from Saturn that is composed up of millions of small flea-sized flying insects. These small creatures act as a bigger one that has the ability to find forms of energy. When it does find that energy, it envelopes it and drains it. The creature, together, can cut through trees, destroy buildings, and is very powerful. Liquid can cause the little insects to fall, and is a weapon against the creature. The word "veleek" is a Yeerk word for "pet."
Venbea -- The homeworld of the Venber that has very cold temperatures.
Venber -- This species is human shaped with biological skis on their feet and a hammerhead shark-like head. They have two forearms after the elbow and are silver with flashes of bloodred and midnight-blue. They can only survive at temperatures below 200 degrees and were exterminated by The Five.
Visser -- A Yeerk military rank that is equivilant to that of a general. Vissers are generals of the Yeerk empire. They are ranked from least to greatest, meaning that 1 would be the most powerful.
Visser Four -- The Yeerk that controlled John Berryman and attempted to change time using the Time Matrix so that the invasion of Earth would easier to accomplish. He failed.
Visser One -- A Yeerk named Edriss 562 who took the body of Marco's mother and started the invasion of Earth.
Visser Three -- The Yeerk named Esplin 9466 (the greater one) who began at the bottom and rose through the ranks to hold the rank of Visser Three after he infested an Andalite and was known as the only Andalite-Controller. He was also Elfangor's murderer.


W

War-Prince -- An Andalite military rank similar to that of a general.
Warrior -- An Andalite military rank similar to that of a private.
Wish Flower -- A flower used in the wish flower ritual.
Wish Flower Ritual -- An Andalite ritual that is performed when expecting a younger sibling. It begins by saying: <We welcome our hopes embodied, we welcome a new branch of the tree, we welcome...>

Y

Yamphut -- A disease which infects the Tria gland by having small organisms collecting in it.
Yeerk -- A parasetic species that enters a host body via the ear canal. Once inside, it can control all body functions and the host is kept in a corner of its own mind, trapped. Yeerks need to be nurished by kandrona rays every three days, or they will die. They look like gray slugs with palps and osmosis nodes.
Yeerkbane -- Another name for the Vanarx.
Yeerk Ground Attack Fighter -- A Yeerk in-atmosphere fighter (used in the war for Leera).
Yeerk Homeworld -- The homeworld of the Yeerks. It orbits a sun which lets of natural kandrona rays into the natural Yeerk pools on the planet. It has a green sky streaked by lightening and is presently being occupied by Andalite warships in orbit.
Yeerk Pool -- A pool of sluge-like liquid, like molten lead. It is the place where Yeerks go to absorb kandrona rays and other minerals which are present in the pool. The kandrona rays are beamed to the pool by a kandrona wave/particle generator located in some other location. The current Yeerk pool on earth is under half of the Animorphs' town.
Yeerk Waterjet -- A Yeerk underwater vehicle that is like a long tube with a seat. It has engines in the back which look like more rods bundled together. All in all, a hoverbike kind of look.


Z

Zero-space -- White anti-space nondimension where faster-than-light travel is possible. Tunneling through z-space requires a certian acceleration and translation point, and it is somewhat inaccurate in where the exit point will be. Z-space can also configure every now and then and make distances greater or smaller to travel through.
Zero-space Deflection -- A technique that deflects z-space over a ship to cloak it from more primitive sensors.
Zero-space Transponder -- A chip the size of a pea that allows signals to be converted into z-space.
